Three young men have died on Essex roads this weekend

The men, aged in their late teens and 20s, died in three separate collisions over the weekend of 1-2 August.
Nicola Foster, Chairman of SERP, said: “We have a vision that no one should die or be seriously injured on Essex roads. It is an ambitious vision but one that we believe everyone should be passionate about. SERP cannot do this alone. Every road-user has a part to play.
“Three young lives were lost this weekend and our thoughts are with the families and friends of those young men. We must all work harder to prevent such unnecessary and tragic deaths. Essex residents do not have to accept more lives ending or being forever altered due to road traffic collisions.
“Police investigations into the circumstances around the collisions are ongoing but this is a shocking number of road deaths over a two-day period. The only acceptable number for us is zero and we urge the communities of Essex to support the families devastated this weekend and to support Vision ZERO.”
