The Safer Essex Roads Partnership joins 80 exhibitors at the Festival of Business

The event was held at Hylands House in Chelmsford on April 27 and was attended by local businesses from 10am to 3pm.

The Partnership attended to promote its Driving for Better Business offer as businesses are involved of one third of all deaths and serious injuries on the roads.

Iain Temperton, Business Road Safety Specialist for SERP, said: “We offer free consultations and on-line or practical help with policies and training. We are committed to reducing casualties in the business environment because of the high number of collisions involving vehicles as part of journeys for work.

“At least 28% of collisions in Essex involve a commercial vehicle or another vehicle being driven on a working journey.

“Today was an opportunity for us to meet local businesses who wish to work with us to reduce the number of road casualties as part of our strive towards ‘Vision Zero’. It was great to see so much support for our aspiration to reduce road traffic deaths and serious injuries to zero.”
