Motorways are statistically our safest roads, but when something does go wrong the consequences are often severe because of the high speeds involved. That’s why a number of organisations have compiled specific advice to help people drive safely on motorways.

Highway Code (online)

The Highway Code has a section about motorway driving, covering signals, joining the motorway, lane discipline, overtaking, stopping and leaving the motorway.
