Are you looking for something interactive and different to do with your children?

The Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP) has developed the following online road safety tools for both reception and year 5 students.

Reception

Schools are offered an interactive school-based indoor session involving the parents/carers and children together. It is both informative and fun; it is never too early to start establishing good Road Safety behaviour.

Please download the Reception presentation (Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation) to complete at home or in school.

Year 5

We offer all schools pedestrian training for their Year 5 pupils as they prepare to become independent by the road. Pupils participate in an interactive discussion in the classroom, followed by a roadside practical training session in close proximity to their school. Pupils are provided with follow up activities, including the ‘Think’ Journey Planner, to start thinking about reducing risks on their journeys in the future.

Please download the Year 5 presentation (Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation) to complete at home.

Speed watch

Year 5 pupils at schools in six priority towns in Essex are given the opportunity to learn about the dangers of speeding drivers, by allowing them, with a Road Safety and Police Officer, to educate offenders about the dangers and consequences of speeding near to their school.
